In the past decade, we’ve all witnessed shifts in media from traditional to new. We’ve also seen a new generation of Asian Americans emerging in the new media front particularly on YouTube. Uploaded: The Asian American Movement is a documentary-in-progress that is capturing this era. Check it out:
The Uploaded team! Don’t they look like a hip ABDC crew? From Left to Right: Rommel Andaya (Director of Photography, Lead Editor), Julie Zhan (Executive Producer), Mark Anthony Gadia (Assistant Editor), Kane Diep (Director, Producer), Farah Moriah (Executive Producer).
The guys who brought you “Ktown Cowboys” the web series are bringing you KTOWN COWBOYS THE MOVIE. But first they need to raise some funds. Check out their Kickstarter page and find out how you can help.
Indie pop artist, Teesa, is raising funds to shoot her very first music video, a “high concept dance thriller.” Check out what she’s all about and if you’d like to support her dream, you can donate here: http://kck.st/hR7lTZ.
Hey guys, my friend, Nick Acosta (director of “The Refuge”) is in pre-production of a mockumentary film about Harry Potter and friends 20 years later. He’s trying to raise $2000 in the next two months (via indiegogo.com) so that he can fly to Universal Studios Florida as well as buy some costumes, props, etc. Other than those costs, this is pretty much a low/no budget shoot. Take a look at this video and check out some of his work to get an idea of what he can do with very little.
I put in the first $50 not only cuz’ I want the “special thanks” (puahaha), but cuz’ Nick is super talented and I’m pretty sure this mockumentary’s gonna be awesome cuz’ of Nick’s passion for Harry Potter. If only I were 20 years older… maybe I could play Cho Chang… lol! Seriously though, if you’re a Potter fan and you want to support indie filmmaking, here’s your chance. You can donate as little as a $1 if you want (check out the VIP Perks that come with the donations), but if this ain’t your cup of tea, no worries! Feel free to pass this along. Any help is appreciated :]
“Millions” is a dramedy about six Asian North American suburbanite friends that embark on an ambitious but dangerous journey to become millionaires before they turn 30. It’s like Entourage in a suburban setting, but with a dark Sopranos twist. It’s a series ultimately about our dreams and how money can fuel or destroy them depending on the path we choose.
