5 days away!

From CINEMA MUSICA!, the 5th installment of the music video program that I curate for the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. If you plan on attending, you can purchase tickets online up until an hour before showtime (unless it’s sold out before then)! So you better hurry, cuz’ from the past few years, this program always sells out! Of course you can see all the videos on YouTube, but trust me, it’s a different experience when you watch these on the big screen! Plus, you can ask your questions to all the filmmakers during Q&A!

For those of you in the know, you already know that we like to mingle and party after the program. This year, we’re going to be raising funds for Japan relief with live performances. I’m very happy that David Choi will be joining us especially since we’ll also be screening his video for “That Girl.” In fact, it’s one of the videos I recommend you see if you haven’t already. For those of you who can’t make the screening, you can watch it here.

Wong Fu Productions got a whole lot sexier when they released this video. David Choi, a cute girl, and awesome animation. What’s not to love?

Less than 24 hours away!

From LAAPFF! Who’s all going to opening night? Should be a good time! Lots of reunions with Justin Lin’s current and former casts, so it’ll certainly be a star-studded event.

I lost my camera battery charger and spare battery so I haven’t been able to use my camera for awhile… but I have new ones coming to me soon, so hopefully I can document bits and pieces of the film fest! It’s been quite a while since I uploaded any new videos onto my YouTube channel… but like I said before, I’m not really a vlogger. Haha. I’ll TRY to put something out there SOON!

So what’s my festival schedule? As of now, I plan to attend the FAST FIVE screening and opening night gala, WEDDING PALACE on Friday night, ALMOST PERFECT, WONG FU PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS: FAST FORWARD, and the ANGRYASIANMAN.COM 10TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY on Saturday night, CINEMA MUSICA! + after party on Tuesday night, RED LIGHT REVOLUTION on Wednesday night, and LOVE IN DISGUISE on closing night! *breathe* Def got a lot going on in the next few days…

One week away from LAAPFF!

Besides what I would imagine a llama’s fart to sound like (“laa-pff”… does anyone else hear it? maybe it’s just me), I’m talking about the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival! Who’s all going? I shall be there. It’s def gonna be a fancy night with FAST FIVE as the opening film. Should be a good time!

What films am I looking forward to?

FAST FIVE – Cuz’ Justin Lin directed it and Sung Kang’s in it. Plus it looks pretty good from the trailer. But hmm… I didn’t see the 4th one (which I heard was good)… maybe I should Netflix it before then?

WEDDING PALACE – I’ve actually already seen a rough cut which I really enjoyed. Looking forward to seeing the final piece! ‘Tis been a long time coming.

ALMOST PERFECT – I’m quite curious about this Kelly Hu and Edison Chen pairing… I don’t even know what the film’s about (ha, I suppose I could read the synopsis right here), but considering the film is the festival’s centerpiece, it should definitely be worth watching.

That’s it for now. I really need to read up on the different films that are screening! Lucky for you iPhone/iPod touch/iPad users, there’s a LAAPFF app! Unfortunately, I’m still a BlackBerry user, so I’m gonna have to stick to navigating the website.

Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival 2011

Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival (April 28th – May 7th)

It’s going down in two weeks beginning on Thursday, April 28th, and tickets are already selling out with the quickness! From what I’ve heard, the Opening Night screening, Justin Lin’s FAST FIVE, is already sold out!

On Friday, April 29th, WEDDING PALACE, a film I worked on back in late 2008, is making its world premiere at the fest! The screening’s already sold out, too! (Too bad I didn’t blog this earlier!) I think they usually hold a few tickets at the box office for those of you who want to try to get into the screening… ;]

And on Tuesday, May 3rd, CINEMA MUSICA, the music video program that I curate, will be screening at the CGV Cinemas in K-town. This program always sells out, so you should get your tickets while they’re still available! Check out the lineup here. And purchase tickets here. And of course, there’s always an afterparty.
