This trailer gives me chills.

The music, the music! Hans Zimmer! *edit* ZACK HEMSEY!!! And wow, the visuals are pretty crazy. Definitely looking forward to seeing this. Christopher Nolan… Leonardo DiCaprio… and Ken Watanabe’s supposed to be in this, too! Can’t wait.

Note about edit (6/11/10): So after thinking the music in this trailer was composed by Hans Zimmer, I started thinking “OMG, Hans Zimmer is THE MAN”… so I tweeted that I was winding down to some of his music… then I just found out that this whole time I was praising the wrong person. Doh. My composer friends who don’t like Hans will probably have a kick out of this one. I should’ve done my homework first. Zack Hemsey, if you’re reading this… you freakin’ rock.

Music Video Monday

Paul Jisung Kim covers Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida”

Lumen Productions presents Feats In Inches’ “No Use Pretending (Whoa)”

This one is just silly. Just Kidding Films does the “Asian Lady Robot”…

Wong Fu Productions x David Choi’s "That Girl"

This is a sweet video and it really shows how the Wong Fu guys have matured as music video makers. I’ve seen a handful of their past MVs and well, this one is just at another level. Beautifully done. And David Choi, you make me wanna cry and smile all at the same time.

You can support David by buying this single or his new album “By My Side” from iTunes or his online store.

Far East Futura

This is so sick. When I first saw it on the Interpretations site, I was like, “OH SNAP.” It’s a slick vid featuring Far East Movement, produced by Anson Ho and Christina Hoang, with cinematography by Ray Huang, cuts by Greg Louie, graphics by Jonathan Winbush, and directed by Evan Jackson Leong who I spotlighted recently.

And just fyi, this is NOT an entry in the Interpretations contest. Just an example of what you can do with a simple script. So if you’re inspired… get your camera, some peeps, and make your interpration! For more info, check out: interpretationsfilm.com

Justin Chon x Big Phony’s "But I Will, Everyday"

Last night at the film fest, Justin Chon showed me a music video he directed for our friend, Big Phony. Check it out… “But I Will, Everyday” shot with Justin’s iPhone! Watch it all the way through! It’s super cute:

I think if Justin keeps it up with directing, we might see something of his at the film festivals in the next few years!

林育羣 / Lin Yu Chun

Wow. So awesome. Heard about this guy from some peeps on AliveNotDead.

U.S. debut on Lopez Tonight:

On the Ellen DeGeneres Show:

I love it. Taiwanese pride, yo! Hahaha j/k. Well, half kidding. It’s just awesome to see someone who once had a dream crushed… make a big comeback! Susan Boyle, Lin Yu Chun… keep singing and inspiring!

GLEE auditions!

Yes! More Asian Americans on GLEE, please! I don’t even watch GLEE, but I know that it’s a very popular show right now and well, I’m always down for more Asian American faces in media, especially if they’re freakin’ talented.

Esther Nara (Esna) – I got teary-eyed watching this one:

Jennifer Chung – such a little girl, but such a big voice:

Raymond J. Lee – man, this is a SERIOUS audition:

Hmm, I wonder if GLEE got the idea to hold online auditions from Raymond’s unofficial GLEE audition

KOLLABORATION 10

All I have to say is that I can’t believe I’m missing this!!! It’s gonna be PK’s last year hosting… there are A LOT of people going… and of course, the talent! OMG, THE TALENT.

Very excited for Asians and Asian Americans in entertainment… God is on it. Trust.

Btw, if you’re wondering about my New Year’s resolution about blogging daily… well… obviously, that hasn’t been happening. I have very inconsistent Internet access here in Asia (been traveling a lot more than I planned and I don’t have a laptop). Anyway, I will seriously blog about some of the things that I’ve experienced here when I have more time :]

Dumbfounded – Jam Session 2.0

Saw this via Esna Yoon. Very, very cool concept: a virtual “jam session” with musicians from all over the world.

Btw, here’s the latest CPAF PSA with a buncha familiar faces:

FM, Big Phony, & Ken Oak support CPAF

More VoteCPAF.org PSAs featuring some of my favorite Asian Am. musicians.
