What happens…

when your parents are on Facebook? Well, for me… after my dad figured out how to upload and tag photos, he moved onto Facebook apps.

Just a few days ago, I received multiple “Happy Island” and “Fishville” requests… all from my dad! Lol. Since I had sworn off FB apps, I just let the requests sit there for awhile. Eventually, I figured I shouldn’t leave my dad hanging. The next thing I know, I have to feed my fish every two days or they’ll die. Lol.

Then just yesterday, I accidentally signed onto FB chat and guess who IM’d me?

Puahaha… too cute. Dad, if you’re reading this, don’t get too addicted to the FB apps, ok? :P

BlackBerry or Droid?

Ok, I’ve posed this question before and the reason why I’m not considering an iPhone is cuz’ I want a physical keypad. The last time I asked the question, I was already leaning towards just getting a BlackBerry again and many agreed. However, after testing out a friend’s Droid… I kinda changed my mind. These are the pros and cons that I’m weighing:

BlackBerry
Pros: QWERTY keypad and BBM
Cons: archaic web browser (well, especially the one on my 2-year old Curve… and plus I haven’t updated the software…)

Droid
Pros: in a way, it’s like having the best of both iPhone and BlackBerry… diggin’ that there’s a slide out keypad
Cons: no BBM (lol)

Hmm… soo… is BBM a good enough reason to stick with BlackBerry? Puahaha. What I REALLY want is a good phone for email and text messaging (and maybe blogging). What are your thoughts?

Taiwanese American?

If you are, then claim it! And yes, I’m Taiwanese American if you’re wondering.

Btw, that whole Taiwanese / Thai confusion happens all the time. “Oh, so you’re Taiwanese? So can you speak Thai then?” o_O Totally different, yo. And the whole Chinese vs. Taiwanese issue… some of you may know Taiwanese peeps who get offended if you call them Chinese… well, though ethnically 90+% of Taiwanese are of mainland Chinese descent, culturally, politically, socioeconomically, historically, etc… there’s a big difference in being Chinese or Taiwanese. Anyway, enough about this political stuff. How ’bout that Taiwanese American Barack Obama?

Macho, Macho Man!!!

When I think of that song… I think of my dear friend, Aiko, actually. LOL. I remember she once wrote a blog about how when she used to model and have to pose sexy… this song would be in her head! Haha. Silly girl. If you’re in LA, you should check her out at her first show of the year at the Comedy Store!

Anyway, what’s up with some macho men that I know? Well, they are supporting the Center for the Pacific Asian Family! VoteCPAF.org!

Also, here’s another vid of macho man, Steven Ho (who appeared in the above PSA). Yup, that’s him as “Conan” kicking the “Leno” ass.

Speaking of Conan, here’s another vid that my friends made featuring… RUFIO?!

Dumbfounded – Jam Session 2.0

Saw this via Esna Yoon. Very, very cool concept: a virtual “jam session” with musicians from all over the world.

Btw, here’s the latest CPAF PSA with a buncha familiar faces:

Do you remember He-Man and She-Ra?

Haha. Well, how many of you know that “He-Man” and “She-Ra” existed in the Bible? Heheheh, well… Heman and Sheerah.

So I’ve been reading the Old Testament and while reading some genealogies, “Sheerah” popped out at me, then later “Heman,” and I was like, “Oh! I used to have a She-Ra doll!” In fact, I had the freakin’ She-Ra Crystal Castle! LOL.

Oh yes… my random silly musings while reading the Bible.

Thank you, Mr. Raymond J. Lee

For getting the freakin’ Lil’ Mermaid song stuck in my head. I’ve been humming it ALL DAY LONG. While driving, while shopping, while cleaning and washing dishes… even right now. I feel like I’m living in a Disney musical. But you know what? It’s not a bad feeling… haha. And I gotta give it to ya, Raymond… you’ve got SKILLS. I hope the producers of GLEE see this!

Babies and a New Decade

So I had the pleasure of babysitting a lil’ one today… although Arden did most of the work… :X I gotta say… babies… are so, so, so precious. I was always the type to say I would never have kids… but who knows…

Just the other day, I was having lunch with some girlfriends. We were talking about this new decade… and this realization occurred: If I’m gonna have any babies, this will be the decade! (unless I have ‘em when I’m a “cougar”~ haha).

Which makes me think back to a few weeks ago, when my mom asked me: “How old are you again?” I said, “Mom, I’ll be 27 in a few months.” Then she said… “Oh, wow, I was 27 when I had you!”

Omg.

飯氣攻心

pronounced: fan qi gong xin
translation: food coma (slang according to my Taiwanese friend)

Speaking of food and Taiwanese… I can’t wait to be back in Taiwan/Asia! Leaving in just a few weeks! I’ll definitely be getting major 飯氣攻心 while I’m over there! For those who know what’s up and if you haven’t already, you should join my friend’s Facebook Group: 台灣 Food is THE BEST. That’s right, Taiwan food is the BEST! Mmm… even the non-Taiwanese food is good there :] It’s a foodie’s paradise!

Pic from last Taiwan trip… the BEST beef noodles in the world from 廖家牛肉麵 (liao jia niu rou mian). I am looking forward to having THIS again. Which btw, this is not what it looks like at the restaurant… my aunt brought it home and served it in small bowls (just in case you’re thinking the portion is small).
