Linsanity

I haven’t been able to watch any of the previous 5 games live, but through Facebook, Twitter, news articles, blogs, and highlights on YouTube, I very quickly and proudly jumped onto the Linsanity bandwagon. Heck yah. What he stands for is what I thrive for! Not only is he also a 2nd generation Taiwanese American who has quite possibly become the most widely recognized Asian American public figure within just the last week, he has brought such a positive light into the mainstream, giving all the glory to God, and that is freakin’ AWESOME.

In late 2010, I got to see Jeremy play while I was up in the Bay and I remember thinking how crappy it was how little playtime he got. I could barely see what kind of skills he had then. I mean, nobody was passing the ball to him :[ Here’s my footage from that night (totally stalkerish):

Mind you, I’m not one that follows the NBA or knows anything about stats, etc., but I’d definitely heard about Jeremy a few years ago (probably from Angry Asian Man). Then I started to see him around here and there. And BOOM, now he’s in the spotlight with all eyes on him. Exciting times to be Asian American. Year of the Dragon… coincidence? I think not. I’m definitely rooting and praying for Jeremy!

Finally, for someone who never really cared for sports paraphernalia, I’m about to stock up on Jeremy Lin gear. This is one of them (MY LINJA! by MY NINJA!):

P.S. – Jeremy, if you’re reading this~ don’t let all these blogs get to your head :P Haha. But you obviously don’t need me to tell you that!

On the Radar: Brian Wong

This is for you motorsports enthusiasts and those keeping tabs on Asian Americans in the public eye. If you don’t know who Brian Wong is, he’s an up and coming race car driver with a very promising future as the youngest person to receive a Porsche racing license. He’s also the first Chinese American speed racer in NASCAR history! Check out this promo vid of him:

Excerpt from a recent press release:

Brian is a native of Newport Beach, California, a fifth generation Chinese American and a lifelong motorsports enthusiast.

At age 17 Brian was the youngest to receive his Porsche racing license and progress again up the competition ladder. His racing ability was recognized in 2010 by Porsche Motorsports with an invitation as one of 12 young race drivers in the world, to Germany and Italy for a driver assessment. In 2010 Brian raced in the prestigious and competitive American Le Mans Series, the IMSA Challenge Series, the Porsche SuperCup series in Europe (companion race to the F1 races) and the NASCAR West.

Throughout his career, Brian has raced upwards of 35 events a year, while attending school at Northeastern University in Boston, MA, currently on a one year break to pursue his racing career.

What started as a fun hobby has quickly turned into a professional dream for Brian. Having traveled and raced in Europe, Canada, America, and China, Brian has gained a wealth of experience in racing and looks to continue his career in Asia.

For 2011 Brian has signed contracts to race for teams in 2 others series, in the American Le Mans Series and in NASCAR.

Happy Birthday, Gilbert Arenas!

So I don’t really know what’s going on with Gilbert Arenas, cuz’ I don’t follow sports news… but through the grapevine I heard something about guns and all of a sudden I’m seeing people tweet about him today.

Anyway, it’s Gilbert’s birthday and so here’s a music vid to celebrate! This is Episode 6 of “The Agent Zero Show” (brought to you by Arowana Films. Gotta give it up to Evan Jackson Leong for handlin’ these vids!).

See the rest of the vids on The Agent Zero Show’s YouTube Channel.

P.S. – I just Googled it… and I now know that Arenas has been suspended for bringing guns into the locker room. Yikes. I wonder if “Agent Zero” will have something to say about that.

What a crazy story.
