Asians (plus, "Jin-Soo Kwon") at the Emmys

I’m not one to follow things like the Emmys… but after seeing a friend tweet about dressing Blake Lively and January Jones, I had to see my friend’s handiwork. Thus, I browsed through red carpet images from the night and found, to my delight, a handful of Asian Am stars struttin’ it!

Pictured: Jeannie Mai (I heart her), Mindy Kaling, Rex Lee w/ the entourage, Lindsay Price, and Sandra Oh.

While perusing, I also stumbled upon this:

What the…either LOST is real or the caption writer totally had a brain fart. Tsk tsk.

Oh, and btw, Blake Lively and January Jones looked lovely! (Great job, Chris!)

What’s Conan gonna do w/ a plunger & a baby?

So I had first read about Steven Ho on Conan O’Brien from AAM (but for some reason skipped over the video). After seeing bakasan tweet about Steven’s recurring appearances on the show, I had to check it out. Thank God for Hulu!

The above clip is from Steven’s latest appearance this past week. I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time from watching a video online. Conan and Steven have great chemistry together… and I love Conan’s reactions and Steven’s disregard to them! Hahaha. Word on the street (or should I say tweet) is that this is not the last time we’ll be seeing this duo. I freakin’ love it.

APA Market's Influence in Hollywood

I got this from a friend on Facebook… figure this would be something of interest for all of you folks who care about the status of Asian Pacific Americans in Hollywood.

Greetings everyone,

I am currently an independent contractor for the Screen Actors Guild, America’s labor union for film and television performers. I have been assigned to craft a report regarding the Asian-Pacific American market’s ability to influence Hollywood’s entertainment industry, and whether this market segment has the ability to impact the quantity and quality of Asian-Pacific American roles in film and television. This report will be published and distributed within the industry, among networks, studios and advertisers.

Due to the limited information on Asian-Pacific American consumer trends in the entertainment industry, I have created a questionnaire to help define the Asian-Pacific American market’s influence in Hollywood. All responses are anonymous. I hope to collect a minimum of 500 respondents within the next two weeks.

Your participation strengthens the Asian-Pacific American voice in Hollywood. Thank you for your time and consideration.
