Armed With a Camera 2011-2012

Attention, young and emerging filmmakers of Asian Pacific descent! Visual Communications is taking applications for their Armed With a Camera Fellowship through August 5th!

As an AWC alumna (2004-2005), I can totally vouch for this program. I had a great time connecting with peeps, especially the peeps at VC. Also, the short film I made through the program is something I’m still very proud of! It was my ticket into several film festivals :] If you’re looking for a creative workspace with the opportunity to learn new things and meet new people, this is a great way.

Good luck!

MasterChef Season 2

Who’s been watching? Who’re you rooting for?

Honestly, I very rarely watch TV, especially reality TV… but this show has gotten my attention prob cuz’ my friend’s on it and also cuz’ I LOVE FOOD. Haha. So I’m biased and I’m rooting for Esther just cuz’ she’s one of the best cooks that I know in real life. On top of that, she makes some amazing cookies (Batch From Scratch).

MasterChef airs on Mondays 9/8c & Tuesdays 8/7c on FOX. You can also watch full episodes here: http://www.fox.com/masterchef/

Cinema Musica 2011

Thank you to all who showed up for the screening last night! We had a good # of filmmakers in the house including Linkin Park’s Joe Hahn who was grilled on his usage of visual FX in “Waiting for the End” (which btw, looked AMAZING on the big screen). Crowd pleaser of the night was Steve Hwang’s “Fruit in Love.” Overall, there was a lot of positive feedback about the program. For those of you who missed the screening or want to relive it, I’ve compiled this playlist for you:
